What is an AMS?
AMS stands for Automated Material System. The AMS identifies filaments stored in it, will automatically load them to the print head when you send a print over the network for a particular material, and allows for automatic swapping materials during printing to create multiple color or material prints.
Can I upgrade my P1S to a P1S Combo?
Absolutely. If you've already purchased a P1S and have decided you'd like to turn it into a Combo, you can purchase 1 or more AMS to go with it.
How many AMS can I attach to 1 printer?
Each P1S can have up to 4 AMS connected to it, allowing for printing of up to 16 materials in a single print.
How can I send prints to the printer?
The P1S can accept prints over your local ethernet or wifi network through Bambu Studio on your computer or the Bambu Handy app on your phone. You can also send prints over the network directly from Bambu Studio to the microSD card installed on your machine.
What's the build volume?
256mm x 256mm x 256mm (roughly 10 inches cubed)
Why aren't my prints sticking?
The most common reason for prints failing to adhere is that the bed needs to be cleaned with soap and water; it may not be visibly dirty, but the oils from our hands get on the plate and can interfere with adhesion. If you're still having adhesion issues after washing the plate with soap and water, take a look at your model. Is it a lot of separate or thin small parts on the build plate? If so, it may be worth adding Magigoo to the plate to help with adhesion.
What filament can I use with this machine?
Because the P1S is enclosed, it can be used with high temperature materials like ABS, ASA, PET, PA, and PC, as well as standard lower printing temperature materials like PLA, PETG, TPU, and PVA.
Out of the box it is not set up for carbon fiber or other abrasive materials, but you can order a hardened steel hot end to replace the stainless steel hot end, which will allow you to use abrasive materials like PLA-CF as well.
Can I get a copy of the technical specs?
Absolutely. You can download it here.
